"Just going somewhere and dancing...you know- Marsha P Johnson just going and dancing and THAT being a radical act... if we ARE told to dance, we’re told to dance and move a certain way. I think doing it publicly and confidently and authentically is a way of resisting. I watch people- I see the way everyone lets their body give into certain things, the ways we edit ourselves- even out at a bar with friends. For me it's very rare and exciting when you see individuals moving however they want without any structure. And then you put them all together, and its a whole group of people, and it’s exciting.”
