"Much of my queer journey has been about taking control over my body and the traumas I’ve experienced. I think to move in a celebratory way in my skin is pretty radical, because there have been many times when my body has been made to not feel like my own- and much of my queerness is in response and in resistance to ways in which I’ve been physically violated. So much of my drag is trying to reclaim my experience with my gender and sexuality. I think it’s so important to make myself visible and take my body into my own hands and establish my own physical boundaries- and I do that through movement.”
